My country has a great love for romantic movies, a lot of them sappy...so sappy that a hardcore cynic will have a hard time trying to repress the urge to vomit. I once was a fan of these romantic movies, but after moving to the US, I found myself exposed to, well, the world of hormones, puberty, first crushes, heartbreaks and such. I fancied myself a veteran of the dating field by the time I was sixteen (which, now I look back into it, was a hilarious notion, because I've only had one boyfriend and a string of crushes who probably had no idea I existed. I guess every girl likes to think that she's actually older and more experienced than she actually is). So, after a few years, I found out that I didn't like romantic movies as much as I used to and that a lot of what happened in those, unfortunately, was a bag of balogne (sp?).

So anyway, back to the actual story: so after coming home from a long eleven-hour shift at work, I found myself sitting on a chair and watching one of these sappy movies. At least, I thought it was. It was a movie about a man who married, cheated and was torn between the two women. I was prepared to assess the movie on it's cheese factor. However, instead of doing so, I found myself feeling very frustrated.

The wife was cheated on and yet she had to ask her husband for forgiveness. For what? Because she was, apparently, not good enough for him? It made me mad. She frustrated me because I believed that it should have been the other way around. The wife didn't cheat on him, HE cheated on HER, therefore HE had to ask for forgiveness. Yet, he had the nerve to get mad at her when he found out that she had met up with his mistress to talk about what had happened. In my eyes, he didn't deserve her, probably not even the mistress (who was, as it turns out, a nice woman). What he DID deserve, though, was a big slap on a face.

Augh! I hate it! > Would you ever ask for forgiveness if YOU were the one who was cheated on? My brother replied "Well, she must love him very much."

Now here's the question: Are you willing to do the same thing as she did? Do you believe that the one you love will do the same thing if the situation was reversed?
